Why are my integers showing as hexadecimal in Visual Studio 2005

by admin 5/1/2008 10:30:04 AM

If you Integers are displaying as hexadecimals (funny letters) then you've probably switched on the hexadecimal display option in your watch window.

You need to debug a project, open up the watch window: Debug > Windows > Watch 1 then right click on an entry and untick 'hexidecimal display'.

I hate it when your using an IDE and something stops working, finding a fix can be like hunting around for a needle in a hay stack.

Today I faced the above problem; I've faced this problem twice before, it seems to happen once every year or so. I always forget that the fix isn't in the options menu and hopefully by blogging it, next time the solution will be a simple search away.
